A state doesn’t have to ban minorities to be an ethnostate; it only has to build law and power around one group—and Israel does that. Jewishness is the ethnicity we’re talking about, otherwise Israel wouldn’t be able to discriminate with their right of return policy.

As you well know, Jews have rights in Israel that non-Jews don’t, including a right of ‘return’ (for people who’ve never been there), but Palestinians whose families have lived there for generations (and who still have keys to their grandparents’ homes that zionists stole) do not, and Palestinians are restricted as to where they can buy property, or travel. And of course you know that the plan is to drive out Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank, by making it impossible to live in Gaza, and for settlers to steal their land in the West Bank. You know all this, but you still support it.

It’s not the only ethnostate – Japan, Armenia and Malaysia come close in many ways, in giving advantages to ‘their’ people (but the others you mentioned don’t – Danes aren’t privileged in Denmark, or have a right of return, and you can become Danish, regardless of ethnicity or religion). And most muslim-majority countries privilege muslims over non-muslims, although that’s not based on ethnicity. But none of those states are composed of recent outsiders who drove out the indigenous population.

The difference with Israel is that comfortable, wealthy Westerners, move to the Middle East – somewhere they’ve never been (and are encouraged and assisted to do it) to help disadvantage, keep out, dispossess, kill, ethnically cleanse, genocide, corrall, starve and bomb the indigenous population, based on a stupid premise that god (if such a thing exists) promised some land to them. And they are bankrolled and supported militarily by the most powerful country on earth. That’s a big difference.

The Jewish expulsions from Arab countries were wrong, as is the Chinese treatment of the Uyghur, but none of that makes the driving of Palestinians from their land right. Israel accepted Jewish refugees because they needed a demographic majority. Banning Jews from praying at the Dome of the Rock is also wrong, but pales into insignificance next to what’s happened to the Palestinians. And it seems that you’d like the Dome of the Rock to be destroyed and a Jewish temple built. That sort of thing (by any religion) should have stopped hundreds if not thousands of years ago.

Palestinians rightly see the stealing and carving up of their land as imposed by the West to solve Europe’s Jewish problem. They don’t want to pay the price for Western crimes. Jews have always been persecuted, and we need to find ways to keep them safe. But Israel isn’t it. It’s the opposite in fact – especially if (looking more like when) the US economy crashes.

‘China is anti-American and isn’t primarily run by Jews’. What are you saying - that America is run by Jews? China isn’t anti-American. They didn’t impose tariffs on America, and they don’t have military bases all over the world. America has military bases all around China, within striking distance of it. China doesn’t have that, and doesn’t have a history of invading and bombing countries that don’t do as it wants.

I don’t ‘pine for a Palestinian state’. I’d like to see a region (called Levant, West Jordan, whatever – with no particular ethnic or religious bias), where anyone who already lives there can remain without being bombed or expelled, with no right of return or restrictions when it comes to travel or owning property, based on religion or ethnicity.
