I was back on the always enjoyable Break It Down Show today with my friend Pete Turner, this time to discuss the generational wipeout faced by Republicans in last night’s midterm elections. We recapped the results, discussed their historic nature, explained why things shook out this way, and talked about what might come next. We broke down how this result might impact both foreign and domestic policy, the inevitable death of Trumpism as an electoral phenomenon, and the broader issues with American politics writ large. Tune in for all of that, plus some political philosophy, including discussions of Burke, Hayek, Tocqueville, and the Founders. As always, it was a great conversation jam-packed with information and nuance.
